Foods that cause gout are all foods that are high in purines.

Purines are acids occuring as compounds in certain foods which break down into uric acid as a waste product.

Foods to avoid with gout are for example alcohol, meat, certain seafoods, coffee and legumes.

As a general rule for food to eat with gout preferably you should lookfor alkaline foods like bananas, potatoes, spinach, chocolate and plenty of mineral water.
